Valuing Water: Heritage bank calls for entries to nominate community in dire need of water

On March 22nd, 2021, the United Nation (with the rest of the world) celebrated – “World Water Day”, themed – “Valuing Water’. According to the UN, the focus for the day was to “support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Water and sanitation for all by 2030.

“Valuing Water” aptly was adopted to highlight the importance of water in our day-to-day lives, likewise, raising awareness of about 2.2 billion people currently living without access to safe water, globally.

Heritage Bank PLC is calling for entries from individuals to nominate a community in each of the six (6) geo-political zones in Nigeria that is in dire need of potable water.

This Corporate Social Responsibility’s (CSR) campaign project is to highlight the importance of water, water crisis, whilst contributing towards making clean and potable water accessible to all.

The nomination process is to run for 30 days; within this timeline, a video of the community must be sent to the bank’s social platforms with justifications (a brief history of the water challenge in the community and impact of a borehole installation will be enumerated) and why the chosen community should be considered in this regard.

Open to communities in Nigeria that is in dire need of portable water.
